by Candace Mcadams, Certified Soul Coach

They say in life it not about “WHAT happens to you, it is more about HOW you choose to respond to what is happening”. As a Soul Coach I take deep pleasure in helping my clients shift their perspective to what is happening to them “out there in the world” by getting them to a deeper level of understanding inside.  It is my belief that our soul is like a great adventurer and views every person, experience, and endeavor as an opportunity to learn, grow, and evolve. Many of the things that are happening to you, even now in this very moment, are presenting an opportunity for you to get closer to your soul, see it the way your soul sees it, and feel good again. I help my clients to reach these new perspectives by shifting from conditioned beliefs to the souls way of seeing things. And by seeing life in this way we get unstuck, start getting wildly curious, and the magic begins.

For an example, I make it my goal to pursue my dreams alongside my clients. My other passion in life is being an actress in Motion pictures. Yes, I am pursuing a Hollywood career, no biggie. lol. I believe my soul chose this profession as a way to get more in tune with the way life really works. You see being an actor presents many “challenges” if that is the way some choose to  see it. It is a profession that is riddled with uncertainty. As an actor “you can pour your heart into an audition and never hear back”, or “make a movie that never reaches success”, or ”never know where your next paycheck is coming from”. Scary stuff to us humans. We want to feel certain, safe, and secure in this world. And this profession for the most part, presents none of that. And I am grateful for that. Yep. Very grateful.

I will tell you why…

Let’s go back to the soul’s perspective of adventure. Let’s take auditioning, the one thing that most people choose to associate with fear of rejection. Yes, its true that “I may pour my heart into an audition, and never hear back” but I don’t see it as rejection. I see it as something much better than that limitation. One, I get a chance to do what I love, even if it’s for five minutes. Two, I become better at my craft each time. And though I may not get that role, if I am good at my job they will remember me. (In fact I have had directors call me up out of the blue and say they loved my last audition and so they wrote something for me because they wanted to work for me.) And three, I just may get the part after all because it is right for me and I took the risk creatively. And that one little movie could change my life for forever, the better. Now would you look at all the incredible possibility in that one little audition? Can you imagine if I let the perspective of fear take over? I would of missed all of that! So heres what happened  I changed the way I looked at things, and things started to change. Things have become so much more joyful, simply because I chose not to get stuck by popular perspective. I have now created a better way to enjoy the journey I am on. And it is, after all, about the journey, trust me.

We all have this opportunity in life to look at the uncertainty and challenges of life through a new lens. We don’t always know if it will work out in the end the way we wanted ,but I can assure you there is something waiting for you at the end of each experience a little golden nugget, or several,  that will leave you blown away. Do you think there is an area of your life that needs some shifting? My pleasure in life is to help my clients get there, to find it, to help you see the gift of it, and keep going towards life with renewed confidence and vigor. Because this life is what you perceive it to be. And you deserve to have  one wonderful ride!
